WE ARE ONE

Hola!!

Por fin subo al blog un cuadro que hice con mucho mimo y al que tengo mucho cariño. Lo he llamado "Somos uno" y el tema es precisamente ése: que tú, la naturaleza y yo formamos un todo inseparable. 

Para expresar ese tema he querido que las dos figuras, el zorro y la mujer, se fundieran con el paisaje en algunos puntos, como en el pelo, frente del zorro, manos, etc, no dejando claro donde empieza y donde acaba cada uno. En el paisaje he utilizado tanto colores fríos para el elemento tierra (montaña, nieve, y sus árboles) y colores cálidos para el agua y el cielo. De estos elementos opuestos y complementarios nacen las dos figuras en el centro, que tienen ambos tonos, indicando nuestra pertenencia y dependencia de la naturaleza.

En cuanto a los materiales he utilizado oleo, y el soporte es una tablilla entelada. El aceite de linaza me ha sido muy útil para hacer los fundidos de las figuras con el fondo.

Hello! 

At last I upload to the blog a painting that I did with a lot of love. I called it "We are one" and the theme is precisely that: you, nature and I are part of an inseparable whole. 

To convey that theme I fused both the fox and the women of the painting with the landscape, as we can see it in the hair, in the fox's forehead, hands, etc. In this way, the limits of every figure aren't clear, and they are part of the same thing. For the landscape, I used cold colors for the Earth element (mountains, snow and trees) and warm colors for the water and sky. From these opposite but complementary elements the two figures in the middle are born, indicating our dependence and belonging to nature. 

"The Earth doesn't belong to man, man belongs to the Earth"

As for the materials, I used oil on a canvas panel. It is worth mentioning that I found linseed oil very useful to fade some parts of the figures. I also added a golden paint for the drop on the woman's face, and some tiny parts of the painting.
